A PhD grant could allow helping young researchers to join the field of metronomic chemotherapy. We will prioritize work that will directly aim at increasing knowledge about the use of metronomic chemotherapy in developing countries.

Pilot Working Meeting

We propose to organize a pilot working meeting with representatives of interested parties in the projets proposed by Metronomics Global Health Initiative. This meeting would lead to :

To create a Metronomic Think Tank opened for innovative scientific, social thoughts and ideas that could promote metronomic oriented treatments for more cancer patients in developing countries

To develop a strategy to coordinate ongoing projects, events, dreams.

To recommend areas of innovative clinical research that address the needs of MGHI

To identify key components and infrastructure needs in MGHI to support research

To determine the key barriers to pharmaceutical companies in investing in Metronomics research and provide a strategy to overcome those barriers.

To gather funding to allow investment in creating infrastructures, to create new markets

Metronomic preclinical models

Preclinical research is a crucial step toward the development of efficient anticancer treatments.
The preclinical testing of metronomic treatments for children in developing countries is an important issue. These children often present with advanced metastatic disease that our model should reproduce.
Children are also frequently suffering from denutrition which should be taken into account
to evaluate the tolerance of treatments.

Change mentality : cancer is not a fatility in low income countries

In low income countries, for parents, for patients, cancer is a sentence. An anticipated long way to painful and distressing death, because treatment and care are lacking. Unless we take action now to make a difference, the existing health care infrastructure in low income countries will be overwhelmed by the predicted increase in cancer incidence.
According to WHO, when it comes to cancer, approximatlively 1/3 of the patients could be prevented, 1/3 could be effectively treated with early diagnosis and 1/3 could have their quality of life improved with palliative treatments and care.
The Metronomics Global Health Inititative aims to demonstrate that with metronmic strategies we can contribute to improving the lives of children living developing countries by achieving large scale and sustainable impact that in turn will change the vision of cancer in thses coutnries. Ultimately, once convinced taht cancer is not fatility, people will be ready for early diagnosis and prevention.

We dream about a website that could explain our Metronomics Global Health Initiative, what it can bring to people suffering from cancer and connect people who share our vision....the birth of our project.
With this website, we want to prove that we are a team of people who can develop innovative state-of-the-art projects promoting alternative global strategies to fight cancer, providing the ressources are there...
