Brendan GUERCIO

Brendan is currently in his third year at Harvard Medical School’s New Pathway MD program. Prior to medical school, he received his BS in neuroscience from the University of Rochester with a minor in health and society. He also studied at the University of Rochester for a fifth year on scholarship in a self-constructed program on economics and public policy. He is currently planning a global health project to advance the field of metronomic therapy in low and middle-income countries. In the past, he has been heavily involved in both clinical and basic research on the pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease. Recent experiences in Kenya shadowing in a rural health clinic and nutrition program inspired his interests in global health. As a member of the Harvard Medical School Student Interest Group for Global Oncology, and active member of the Global Oncology blog he has had the fortune of meeting many leaders in this exciting field. Through involvement in MGHI, Brendan hopes to contribute to the advancement of effective cancer treatment for all peoples regardless of income and privilege.
