Pr Guido Bocci has a Degree of Medicine and Surgery, magna cum laude (1995), from the University of Pisa. He is also a Medical Lieutenant of the Italian Army (1997) and has Degree of Clinical Pharmacology, magna cum laude (1999) and a PhD of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Chemotherapy (2003), University of Pisa.
After a Postdoctoral fellowship at Sunnybrook & Women’s College Health Sciences Centre under the guidance of Pr. R.Kerbel, from the University of Toronto, Canada from 2000 to 2003, he became Assistant Professor of Pharmacology of the University of Pisa (from January 2004). Pr Bocci also passed the national qualification for Full Professor of Pharmacology (February 2014)
He is the member of several associations such as the American Association for Cancer Research, Italian Society of Pharmacology, Italian Society of Chemotherapy and Italian Society of Clinical Pharmacology. He is the Principal Investigator in granted project from the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC, from 2004 to 2011), Istituto Toscano Tumori (from 2010 to 2013), Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (from 2007 to 2009), University of Pisa (from 2011 to 2013), Foundation of Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca (from 2005 to 2010).
He acts as a reviewer of numerous international scientific journals such as the American Journal of Pathology, Annals of Oncology, British Journal of Cancer, Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research, International Journal of Cancer, Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology and is also reviewer for the UK Association for Cancer Research, AIRC, Sultan Qaboos University (Oman) and South Plains Foundation (USA). He is the Regional editor of Clinical Cancer Drugs.
Pr Guido Bocci has received the Award of Sunnybrook Trust for Medical Research (2002-2003), University of Toronto, Canada and the Award of Fondazione Guido Berlucchi (2008) for “Best young researcher in oncology” .
Lastly, he is the author of 3 national and 2 international patents; author of more than 100 articles on international journals and 9 chapters on international and national books.
