Intracranial desmoplastic small round cell tumor after childhood acute myeloid leukemia treated with metronomic oral cyclophosphamide

Nazaret Sánchez-Sierra,Marta Perez-Somarriba,Felisa Vázquez-Gómez,Marta González-Vicent,María Nieves Cabrera-Martín,Alvaro Lassaletta from the Department of Pediatric Oncology from the Hospital Universitario Niño Jesús, and the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Hospital Clínico San Carlos, Madrid,Spain have reported in Pediatric Blood and Cancer a case of Intracranial desmoplastic small round cell tumor occuring as a seconf tumour after childhood acute myeloid leukemia (AML-M7). The resence of WRS1-WT1 alteration confirmed the diagnosis. Due to her neurological status and the poor prognosis, a palliative treatment with oral daily continuous cyclophosphamide (30 mg/m2) was proposed and started. She remains in CR after 3years since the initiation of cyclophosphamide.
