Response of Relapsed Pancreatoblastoma to a Metronomic Vinorelbine-Cyclophosphamide Combination

Dhamne Chetan, Herzog Cynthia from the Khoo Teck Puat-National University Children’s Medical Institute, National University Health System, the Department of Paediatrics, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, USA have reported in the J Pediatr Hematol Oncol a short report entitled: Response of Relapsed Pancreatoblastoma to a Combination of Vinorelbine and Oral Cyclophosphamide. In this paper, the authors report on the use of a metronomic vinorebline-cyclophosphamide combination used as palliative treatment in 2 patients with relapsing pancreatoblastoma. Both clinical and radiologic reponse were obtained suggesting that this combination could be an interesting alternative to agressive chemotherapy for relapsed cases or added as a maitenance for high risk patients like in rhabdomyosarcoma.
