In order to give the greatest possible visibility to the devastating yet largely unknown burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and to build momentum around this important and historic meeting, the American Cancer Society (ACS) is hosting a three-day event titled “We Can, We Should, We Will Conquer Cancer” from June 18 to 20 in New York City. This event aims to give NCDs a global voice and celebrate those bravely fighting the cancer burden. The ACS joined with the UN Department of Public Information to host a press briefing to make the case for the urgent need to address cancer and other NCDs.
